F2D Medical: active monitoring of sepsis and commitment to innovation in healthcare

Follow-up to the 8th Annual Meeting of the European Sepsis Alliance at the European Parliament

On 19 March 2025, F2D Medical closely followed the 8th annual meeting of the European Sepsis Alliance, broadcast live from the European Parliament.
This event brought together international experts, clinicians and patient representatives with a common goal: to improve the prevention, diagnosis and management of sepsis in Europe.
Among the notable speeches, Professor Konrad Reinhart (Global Sepsis Alliance) reminded the audience that sepsis is still one of the leading causes of death worldwide.
Professor Evangelos Giamarellos-Bourboulis (European Sepsis Alliance) emphasised the need to act quickly: every hour of delay in treatment reduces the chances of survival by 7.6%.
Sepsis: a challenge shared by healthcare professionals, researchers and patients
Sepsis is a generalised inflammatory response of the body to a serious infection. It affects 250,000 to 300,000 people in France every year and is responsible for one in four deaths in hospitals. In response to this situation, several French organisations are taking active measures:
– institutions such as AP-HP, a pioneer in improving infectious disease care pathways,
– university hospital teams in intensive care, infectious diseases and emergency medicine,
– associations such as the France Sepsis Association, which raises awareness among families and patients,
– learned societies such as the SFAR and the SPILF,
– collaborative projects such as SepsiCare and EPISep to advance clinical research.
This collective effort aims to make sepsis a recognised emergency that is detected early and treated effectively.
Thermodiag: monitoring temperature to save time
With this in mind, Thermodiag provides a concrete solution to one of the major challenges of sepsis: early detection.
Thermodiag is a non-invasive device worn on the upper arm that allows continuous monitoring of core body temperature, including at home or in low-resource settings.
Its strength? It detects the slightest temperature variations and alerts users to fever spikes, sometimes even before they are clinically noticeable.
Fever is often the first sign of a severe infection, and detecting it quickly can enable earlier action, faster diagnosis and save lives.
Thermodiag is therefore part of a proactive approach to health, in line with national and international recommendations for the fight against sepsis.
